Party Games: Best Memories for Kids

It is time for your kid’s party. Wait a minute, are you prepared? To avoid mess up during the party, you should set up the location properly including the games. Remember that the best thing you could offer to the kids is a beautiful and happy memory of their childhood.
The location should be set up according to activity stations. Kids should have the time to explore and give their focus unto upon their arrival. The stations should not be expensive or fancy. Let your creativity works. Some important activity stations include a dollhouse, blocks, play dough, a toy house and the play area.
Games which are played in teams develop cooperation with other kids. Challenging games such as finding a hidden treasure could be more fun for them. Everybody deserves a prize for participating in the game. Always make sure that there are no losers, let them realize that doing their best in the game is a characteristic of a winner even if they don’t actually win.
The party games should always be associated with the theme. Favorite or traditional games are always adapted. Children are soaring with creativity. It is also a big break for them if arts and crafts activities are added in the games. Parents can buy ready made craft kits.
Some games will enhance the kid’s instincts in determining someone in a blindfold situation through hearing comprehension.
Poor Kitty
1. Arrange the player in a circle formation. The blindfolded player stays in the center. The players move quietly around the circle while someone disguises a poor kitty’s meow.
2. The blindfolded player then has his turn to rescue the poor kitty. The game continues until the blindfolded player identifies the person imitating the poor kitty. If he succeeds, the poor kitty will take his place.
Blind man’s Bluff
1. Arrange the players in a circle formation. Each player should sit on a chair. The blindfolded child becomes the “it” and stands on the center.
2. The players on the chairs quietly changes positions. Then “it” will sit on one of the players lap and determines who he/she is. If he correctly identifies her/him, they will change places.
3. Give the winner a candy, sticker or a small toy.
Some games will enhance the kids on following directions properly. These are simple tricky games.
- Simon Says is a game where one is acting as a leader. He will give orders to other players to make motions. In every order he would say “Simon Says”. Take for instance, “Simon Says clap your hands” or “Simon Says sit down”, the leader will make this motion and the others will imitate it. But if the leader omits “Simon Says” in the order and the other players do the motion, he/she is removed from the game. The player who remains among the other players wins the game.
- Circle Keep Away (Hot Potato) is a game where a bean bag is passed from player to another around a circle while the music is played or clapping is done. The player holding the bean bag after the music or clapping stops is removed from the game. The last one to remain will be the winner.
Are you ready for the games? Kids should not go home feeling like losers. Game competitions might seem enjoyable for winners however sad for losers. A party should always be fun. As a host, select the games where everybody is given the chance to become a winner.
